Straying from a wordy blog this week 🙂
As the days merge into one during the Covid period, I thought it would be great to pay homage to two of the most beautiful things in nature – the sunrise and the sunset.
Here are 5 favourites that we have experienced so far:
SUNRISE
The feature photo – sunrise over Tower Bridge, London – taken from London Bridge (Sept 2019). I happened to be in London for training and walked across London Bridge one morning. There were a whole group of us that just stood there for quite some time……just admiring the view!
SUNSET
Taken from a river boat on the Chobe River in Botswana (March 2019) looking towards the Chobe National Park. There is just something about an African sunset…….

SUNRISE
From our accommodation, a beautiful sunrise over what was once a place of bloodshed and battle during the Anglo-Boer War – Spioenkop and the surrounding nature reserve (August 2017)

SUNSET
Caye Caulker, Belize (October 2018) – we stayed here for 2 nights while on a tour and on both nights were gifted with fantastic sunsets 🙂

SUNRISE
This photo was taken a little bit after sunrise, from our campsite on the Singalala Ridge (India/Nepal border, October 2019) while on a walking holiday.
The rooftop of the world featuring the highest peaks in the Himalayas – from left to right: Lhotse, Mt Everest, Manaslu (all 3 are a bit obscured by clouds) and the closest in view and most prominent, Kanchenjunga, the 3rd highest mountain in the world.

A whole lot more sunsets and sunrises to experience…..hang in there….travel will be back soon! 🙂
