The Castle at Helmsley

As part of our visit to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park in December 2024, we stayed in the lovely chocolate box market town of Helmsley.

One of the key attractions in town is Helmsley Castle, managed by English Heritage. The castle is medieval but has some links to the Civil War.

It has quite a substantial moat!

The town of Helmsley itself is filled with unique shops and its just lovely to wander around the alleyways and maybe grab a bite to eat. There are load of pasty and pie shops 😊
