Once home to the Blackett and Trevelyan families, the majestic Wallington Hall (and its accompanying gardens and estate) is truly one of the gems of Northumberland and so worth exploring!
It is fast becoming one of our favourite places to visit as it is literally 30 minutes away by car and its now a place to bring any family and friends who visit – similar to what Stourhead was for us when we lived in Wiltshire.
Things to visit do at Wallington:
The Riverside walk – a pleasant walk through the woodland, complete with stepping stones.

The Walled Garden – favourite place of Lady Mary Trevelyan – with beautiful flowers and water features.

The House – the artwork and décor are amazing. Don’t miss the hall of curiosities on the very top floor!

Heading outside the house, don’t forget to pay a visit to the 4 dragons, situated at the end of the front lawn 😊

And of course they have a tearoom – situated next to the ClockTower!

Thanks to the National Trust’s dedicated care, Wallington continues to welcome new generations, inviting everyone to be part of its ongoing story, including the recent re-introduction of pine martens and beavers onto the estate.
