I thought I would let you get over the shock that its 2025 before I wrote a new year’s blog.
And no other way to start but to write about Jannie Two Face, or Janus, the Roman god that gave his name to the first month of the year, January.
What’s with the Two Facedness?

No, it’s nothing to do with a Batman villain of a similar name. The god Janus is portrayed with 2 faces, one looking behind and one looking forward. He also represents new beginnings so the Romans knew what they were doing when they named Janus as the god to start a new year.
So, this means that January should be seen with 2 lenses, looking back to acknowledge what events have gone before and then looking forward to what the future will bring, but yet staying focussed on the present.
It reminds me of that wonderful line in the film, Kung Fu Panda:
Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
and today is a gift…
that’s why they call it present.
Let’s make 2025 full of presents 😊
Happy New Year!
